Abstract
I will discuss ultracold fermionic atoms in one dimension with a tunable attractive interaction. This experimentally relevant system is exactly soluble by the Bethe-Ansatz.
In the case of a balanced mixture of two hyperfine states, it realizes a crossover from a BCS-superfluid to a Bose-Einstein-condensate of molecules via a Tonks-Girardeau gas.
At finite imbalance, the ground state is of the Fulde-Ferrell, Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) type with finite momentum pairs in weak coupling.
In the strong attraction regime recently reached at Rice, a Bose-Fermi mixture is expected in which (quasi-)condensation at finite momentum is lost.
